Paraguay is South America . Bordering countries are Argentina , Bolivia and Brazil . There is no continuous passenger flight from Europe to Asuncion. In Paraguay, there are two river ships now offer the tourist trips: The MS Paraguay is a ship with 27 cabins and runs 2 routes, one with 2 nights from Asuncion to the Chaco, one of the 6 nights from Concepcion Pantanal.
In addition there are the simpler riverboat Santa Filomena, serving from Concepcion various trips (including day trips)
The official languages are Spanish and Guarani. Field way too German, Italian and Japanese are spoken.

Roaming works, but is very expensive. A cheaper alternative is to purchase a SIM card from one of the four mobile phone operators (Tigo, personnel, Vox, Claro). Foreigners must present their passport for registration. The card itself is free, only the starting balance must be paid. The credit can be charged, except in the official shops in almost every “mom and pop store”, is only effective limited validity. Older phones may work in Paraguay (not Quadband!).
