Dubbed as the “Emerald City,”Seattle is among the largest and busiest cities in the United States. Every year, several thousands of tourists from all parts of the globe go there to visit its world-renowned landmarks and attractions.

The Space Needle serves as a symbol of the city of Seattle. This historical landmark was built 50 years ago. It is 184 meters high and has an observation deck at 160 meters up, where visitors can take in a 360-degree view of the metro. In order to reach the top, visitors have to take the elevators that travel at 4.5 meters per second.

The Seattle Art Museum consists of three facilities – the main museum located in downtown Seattle, the Olympic Sculpture Park, and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. It features a collection of around 25,000 art pieces, which are of the ethnic, modern, traditional-European, 20th century American, and Aboriginal Australian genres. It is home to some of the world’s most important pieces such as Lucas Cranach the Elder’s ‘The Judgment of Paris,’ and Alexander Calder’s ‘Eagle.’

The Pike Place Market is a public farmers’ market built on a steep hill, overlooking the Elliot Bay. It is where people can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and other products all year round. It houses eight residential buildings where around 500 farmers, merchants, and craftspeople live. It attracts over 10 million local and foreign tourists every year.

The Seattle Aquarium draws almost 1 million tourists annually. It is located on Pier 59, by the bay. It serves as the home of various marine life such as sea anemones, seals, sea otters, rockfish, salmon, and sharks.

Seattle is a city in the state of Washington (United States of America). The people of Seattle to describe a location almost always in reference to his quarters. One of the reasons is the rather confusing system of street naming (see mobility ). The division into districts is informal and is changing with time. Seattle, sometimes Emerald City (Emerald City), is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest. In the city are found on every corner trees and water. On clear days you have a wonderful view of the Olympic Mountains in the west (behind the channel Puget Sound ), and on Mount Rainier and the Cascades to the east. This strong economic dependence on the oil crisis, Boeing had a big effect on the region.
