Luxor is an Egyptian city on the eastern bank of the Nile around the center of Upper Egypt . It is equipped with 451 318 inhabitants (census of 2006), as calculated for 2010 with more than 487 000 inhabitants, on the largest town in Upper Egypt, and administrative headquarters of the 7th December 2009 newly created provinces of Al-Uqsur . Luxor, thanks to the many cultural sites and the links with the international airport will be considered as the center of the region.
