Khao Phing Kan is an island in the bay of Phang Nga in southern Thailand . The island is located in the district ( Amphoe ) Takua Thung of Phang Nga province . It consisted originally of a large rock that is broken into two parts. The smaller half is slid down, the greater seems to lean to one side.
The island is upstream of Khao Ta-Pu, a rocky pinnacle known as ” James Bond ‘s Island “has become world famous. 1974 landed Roger Moore as secret agent of Her Majesty in the film The Man with the Golden Gun against the impressive backdrop of the island.
The island with lush green, up to 300 meters vertically ascending, riddled with caves and grottoes rock belongs to the National Park Ao Phang Nga (Thailand: อุทยานแห่งชาติ อ่าว พังงา ). The island like the rest of Phang Nga Bay with its bizarre limestone cliffs and emerald-green lake has been shaped by wind, weather, ocean currents and tectonic movements of the past 100 million years ago.
