Jiuzhaigou Valley is a nature reserve in the Chinese province of Sichuan , and since 1992 part of the UNESCO – World Heritage Site . The name Jiuzhaigou is derived from the nine Tibetan villages that lie in the valleys of the area. Jiuzhaigou is known mainly for its stunning mountain scenery, consisting of a multitude of lakes and waterfalls.

The reserve is located in northwestern Sichuan province, specifically in the southern center of the circle Juizhaigou Autonomous District Ngawa the Tibetan and Qiang .
