The Gelora-Bung Karno Stadium- ( Indonesian Bung Karno Stadium Gelora ) is a football stadium with track and field facility and serves as the National Stadium in Indonesia . It is after the first president of independent Indonesia, Sukarno (1945-1967), nicknamed Bung Karno was named. It was not until 2005 however Utama Senayan Stadium.
The Indonesian national football team carries out most home games at the Bung Karno Stadium, also were common in the arena finals of the Asean Football Championship (“Tiger Cup”) held, most recently at the tournaments in 2002 , 2004 and 2010 . The first two finals of the Tiger Cup in Jakarta recorded 100,000 (2002) or 110,000 (2004) viewers. The stadium is also of the football club Persija Jakarta, the Indonesia Super League used.
The Bung Karno Stadium, 2007 was one of the venues for the football Asian Cup; next five games of the Tournament Group D with teams from Bahrain , Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and South Korea was, and a quarter-final on 29 July 2007, the final of the competition played out.
