Formentera is the second smallest inhabited island of the Spanish Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands and a municipality. It forms together with Ibiza and some smaller islands, the archipelago of the Pine Islands. Formentera is about 9 kilometers south of Ibiza and is 19 kilometers long. The island has an area of 82 km. The main town is Sant Francesc de Formentera.
