Amalfi is a town with 5317 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2010) in Italy, in the province of Salerno, region Campania. It belongs to the mountain community Comunità Montana Penisola Amalfitana. Amalfi is located on the Gulf of Salerno on the Tyrrhenian Sea, 26 km west of Salerno and 73 km southeast of Naples.amalfi
The town lies on a steep rocky coast, which derives its name from this place: Amalfi Coast, by the UNESCO for World Heritage Site was declared.
